Drawing Ink and me..

I bought a bottle of black drawing ink and tried out to write and draw on a quite finsihed girl face page. It's a little bit tricky, I used a wooden kebab skewer for drawing and writing.. oh .. that's fun!
I really have to notice that it turned out much more better than I would have thought! LOL...

  2. wonderful sketching.....I use ink with a cocktail stick (a tiny version of a skewer)and I love the freedom of it.
Look forward to seeing more work like this from you.

  13. Susi - I love Drawing Ink almost as much as I love Distress Paint!!! There is a company in South Africa that sells Drawing Ink in a whole lot of different colours - I have bought every single colour! Dont know if you want to try this but sometimes I put drawing ink into a waterbrush and "paint" with it - it makes a great watercolour sort of effect, and because ink is so blendable, the effects you can create are totally amazing. I love your portrait here, I think you managed to get the mouth and lips perfect! What a clever idea to use a wooden skewer as a drawing tool! Thank you also for leaving a comment on my entry for Tim Holtz July Tag!

  18. You did a good job with the skewer, Susi! I am guessing that you sued India ink. I have some of the black as well as some colors. I have always had trouble making smooth lines with India ink.

  22. Black ink is nice to draw. I've used some plant, it is more soft than wood.
I like the wholeness very much. The bacground is wonderful and suits so well round the face. Fine artwork :-)
