Teabagpainting and more

A new theme at Try it On Tuesday is awaiting you : GIFT BAGS OR BOXES
Lots of ideas from the team if you need inspiration so pop along and then make anything you like.
You could be chosen as one of the top 5 and be asked to be a guest designer in the future. We can't wait to see what you make.

I came up with this paperbag.

All started with an empty teabagpaper
from my EARL GREY - I drink much of Earl Grey
and as I used the teabag for my project it fits our weekly meeting
TSFT over at Elizabeth's Altered Book Lover
I drew a face on the teabag
applied some white gesso over it

drew it again with Stabilo Mark it All

dissolved the lines with the waterbrush

the darkest points of the face were defined with a black marker

I glued it to a monoprint
The leaf has been cut out    from this PAGE
which I printed out  to reuse.
So I came up with the page  shown above,
inspired by autumn colours meant for
 ART JOURNAL JOURNEY

and  I used the page  for my brown paper bag shown at the very top.

It's also meant for our 99 faces Challenge ( No 11/99) and
Kim Dellow's - Show your face
And I will link my bag also to our
LOTS OF LAYERS Challenge over at

Moo Mania & more

  1. Golly, Susi. I adore the way you used tea bags to draw your face on, then add the tea bags to your gift bag. That was so very clever, and I think you have included more challenges than ever! What a simply wonderful bag with tea bags used as decorations.

Thanks for sharing this bag using a tea bag you drew on for T this Tuesday. This was wonderful.

  37. Wow, stunning! I started saving tea bags about two months ago. How many do I have now? One! I don't really drink tea very much... and when I do I usually forget to keep the bag. Ah well... I probably have enough to play with.
