36/99----- I'll never outgrow the excitement of

looking out my window and seeing falling snow.

I started with a print of a winter landscape ( it was a part of a letter we got from the car dealership for christmas) that I glued to my pages and used acrylic, soft pastels and watercolor pencils for drawing the face and framing the landscape.

My journaling was written with Pitt artist pen.

  6. OK Susi, you inspired me to go through my Christmas cards and see if there is one (or more) I can use as a background for a winter wonderland. You are SUCH an inspiration to me.

Needless to say, I love the face and I ADORE the background. You are so clever.

Speaking of clever, I am in awe of your coptic binding. But I'm even more impressed with your stamping and doodling skills. Thank you for bringing this Second look back for us on the 2nd.

  10. Beautiful and magical artwork and what a lovely face.
I love watching falling snow too, but wish sometimes it wouldn't fall on the roads and pavements and make thing slippery. Have you got snow at present?
    your journal was amazing too.
Have a great day.... Gill x

  12. What at a clever way to create your background. It looks so pretty and rural and what a snowfall should be like. Quiet, peaceful...not the shoveling, the plows, the dirty snow...ha-ha. Hope you are enjoying your weekend and day 2 of the new year! Thanks for the nice comments!

  13. Your winter page is stunning! We never receive ads as pretty as that snow scene--although, like Elizabeth, I have already grabbed a few Christmas cards to recycle!
I enjoyed seeing your 2nd Look coptic stitch journal--lovely!

  17. Oh Susi, this is beautiful! I adore cold, snowy scenes, and your face just sets it all off.
Do you like the Coptic binding? I've read about it and started to try it, looks very time consuming and not as tight as I "think" I would like. Your opinion is very important to me.
    Thanks

  25. Brilliant use of that advertisement and the addition of your lovely lady Susi!
So far I have only been "thinking" about winter...not much time to play in my art cave with husband home for the long weekend.
    Soon...

  27. This one is stunning... I love how the landscape melts in to her face. And the journal is wonderful too - I'm hoping (against hope) to fit in some experiments with book binding this year, though it won't be until the later months. Spring is already too busy!
