"Our self-expression is meant to be a manifestation of the silence of our hearts." ~Matthew Fox

We had such a nice rainbow recently - I love to see rainbows - you too?

Rainbows and color-palettes are wonderful...
that brings me to my trusty Koh- I-Noor* Hardtmuth Mondeluz 48
watersoluble coloring pencils.

They are great - a very good price - much cheaper than many other artist grade brands but super rich pigmented. I used just this pencils, a waterbrush and  different black markers for my spread.

I took a VOGUE cover as an inspiration and reference for the face.

  1. What an intriguing statement - and a great face Susi - yes, I love rainbows too :-)

  2. Wonderful face, lovely colours and quote. Rainbows are always something very special, that's true. Have a fun day, hugs, Valerie

  3. Liebe Susi,

    Lieben Gruss Elke

  5. This is just amazing Susi. Such an interesting face and great the way you used the writing.

    Love Chrissie xx

  6. Oh Susi! This really is stunning! Chrisx

  7. A fabulous piece Susi, the face is wonderful.
    xxx Hazel.

  8. Gorgeous Susi! Amazing colours and I love all the added handwriting! Beautiful. hugs :)

  9. Wow-those pencils look like that gorgeous rainbow. I love rainbows too. And (getting back to the pencils), they do have wonderful color. I book marked them on Amazon and one of these days I am going to order a set because I have yet to find a color pencil I really like. Yours do have great color. And of course, you made a wonderful page with them. Hope its a great day so far. Hugs-erika

  10. ooh fantastic drawing and artwork Susi - your handwriting is amazing too.
Thanks for the pencil info - will have a look at them.
Love looking at rainbows too and especially if there's a double one :) I remember once when I was a child standing at the end of the rainbow on a cliff (didn't think it was possible) but I was disappointed to find there was no promised pot of gold :(
    Gill xx

  11. A stunning drawing Susi, such a lovely expression on her face.
    Yvonne xx

  12. You and your colorful array of watercolor pencils are a very good match.
You've created another lovely spread and in such different colors again.
Rainbows always make me feel like a little girl again... full of excitement and wonder AND delight ♥ lovely photo you're sharing with us liebe Susi ♥

  13. Yes, love rainbows! That's a face to ponder. Seems to have a lot of depth to her...something to say. :)

  15. Rainbows are genuinely nature's wonders. Not sure where you found that quote, but it's a genuine beauty, just like the pencils you used to make this wonderful spread.

I like that your faces will now be ongoing, too!

  16. Ah, wieder ein tolles Portrait, bei dem ich gerade die verschiedenen Augen so faszinierend finde! LG Ulrike

  17. Oh wow, das ist wieder ein tolles Portrait. Klasse!
    LG Carola

  18. Oh I DO love looking for rainbows too Susi! Those pencils look amazing and you have certainly put them to super creative use already with your beautiful journal spread. So much to catch up on, and will post next week...

  19. I wonder if we shared the same rainbow??
The color from those pencils is beautiful- will have to give them a look!! xo
