Post No. Try It On Tuesday - STEAMPUNK/MECHANICAL(2132)

STEAMPUNK / MECHANICAL
is our brandnew theme over at
where my team mates came up with
fabulous ideas again!

Steampunk is not one of my favourite topics - I never really acquired a taste for steampunk yet, but I am happy about the challenge theme since I now am really happy with this steampunky skull - which I  never would have painted without our challenge !

I will link it to Rosie's  CIRCLES theme over at Art Journal Journey as well since there are circles stained with coffee and his eyes are circles as well.

I created that piece with coffee-ground and instant coffee among other media , so this post is suitable to TSFT, Elizabeth's great weekly meeting at Altered Book Lover - where we come together with drink related posts to celebrate our  T-DAYs. Thank you for visiting me today !
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wir haben ein brandneues Thema bei Try It On Tuesday
STEAMPUNK/ MECHANICAL

  8. I never really understood Steampunk, but Gill has it down pat. She is the queen of steampunk in my opinion. I truly LOVE what you did, and you managed to combine it with the AJJ challenge, too. I adore how you used the coffee to make the circles and add that distinct color to the page. Your skeleton skull is out of this world.

Thanks for sharing your coffee inspired art with us for T this Tuesday. It's a glorious skull.

  16. I would never guess from looking at your steampunk skull that you're not a fan, Susi. You did a fabulous job of faking it - lol. I love that you used coffee grounds as a medium.

  22. You did an excellent job on your steampunk skull Susi. I think its always good to try new things, even if they aren't your favorite because you learn something and get a little more experience. I love how you used the ground coffee and other natural mediums to color your skull too. You are so creative that way. :) Happy T day. Hope yours was a good one. Hugs-Erika

  31. Amazing steampunk artwork Susi! - especially if you are not keen on the topic.
I never understood Steampunk for a long while when a few rubber stamps and other Steampunk crafty bits first started appearing (10 years ago maybe?) but then for some reason I suddenly understood - all the films I loved like 'the time machine' 'journey to the centre of the earth' etc was because of all futuristic mechanical contraptions and the Victorian era which I love. I love steampunk as you probably know - but I don't particularly like ' diesel punk'.
    Gill xx
