Post No.2240 *** My Favourite Things - TSFT / TIOT / AJJ / TMTA

A new theme over at Try It On Tuesday!
The first of 2018 and please hop over to the Challenge-Blog to see with what the teamies came up
and welcome our lovely new DT-member Jo.

I had an adventure with Rotbart Delta Alcohol Markers recently. It's a German brand and we purchased them on Amazon some years ago for my daughter who wasn't very enthusiastic about them. She always told me that she thinks they aren't as good as the original Copics. I didn't try them often, just made some backgrounds for cards with alcohol and the markers on glossy photopaper once. Well, the markers are here for a couple of years now, as my daughter was in Manga drawings at the age of 11, so I think they won't get better as they get older . So I  decided that somebody has to use them and I made a martyr of myself and started to try them in the way they are intended.

And yes - they worked very well on the thin bleedproof Marker Paper from Copic. I think just normal copy paper will do it also, but I have to try that first,  smooth paper is recommended. I am quite happy with the result - I painted it with the instructions of a Russian YT- tutorial - there is no need to understand Russian - you can just watch her and recreate what she does.

I will not only use this loose page painting (A5)- made with Rotbart Delta - Markers for our topic "My favourite things "at TIOT ( No not the markers are my favourite thing - it's the coffee...lol) but also for NEW YEAR - NEW ADVENTURES - Erika's current theme at Art Journal Journey, and last but not least I will show it to the gals and wish them all a happy T - Day at
T-S-F-T this week, where we are always made to feel welcome with a drink related post.

For my ATC for  TMTA - this week's theme of Chalkboard- technique I have used my trusty old cuttlebug embossing machine and a cuttlebug folder as well as
pastel pencils  and hairspray as a cheap fixative.

  5. Hallo Susi,
    Dani

  7. That is a great arty adventure Susi. I think those markers don't look bad at all. They certainly worked well for you, and you are right, they aren't going to get any brighter sitting there. I have many times used my daughter's hand-me-down supplies also. You try to encourage them but they have their own minds, don't they? I'm glad you have another post for AJJ, and T day and TIOT. Wow. This is a good post. Thanks for joining in at AJJ and hope you are having a fantastic T day. Hugs-Erika

  14. Its a great drawing using the markers Susi. It would have been such a shame not to use them. There is some much wonderful shading of the colours, the drink looks real. I had a smile on my face as I read about your favourite things.

  17. Toll!
    Mascha

  40. More awesome pieces of art Susi, this markers must be very good quality as i'm sure they would have dried up after being left for a while. I have always had problems with copics so tend to stick to their skin tones & greys. You have worked wonders with them my dear!!
