I am not online very often those days, sorry for my lack of visits at your blogs but I have a lot of extra work with my V.I.P visitor.
My little brother with Down Syndrome - he turns 40 this year, is visiting for two weeks and we enjoy the time together very much. Many walks in the woods with the dogs and much together time in the garden.
He loves soft drinks but he gets them not when he stays with me.
He just gets water or unsweetened tea from me.
His enthusiasm about that is limited. But I think it is much better for his health.
Happy new week my friends!
♥LOVE♥

Wow Susi, your poppies are masterful and gorgeous. I think you made a very refined art journal page for sure. I think they could be framed and put in an art show for sure. And sounds like you having fun with your visiter. It is good to spend time with your brother-yes? I am sure it is exhausting and a change but still rewarding. Hope your visit is going well. Hugs-Erika

Deine Mohnblumen sind fantastisch, liebe Susi! Türkis steht ihnen sehr gut. :)
Julia
Your poppies are gorgeous, Susi! Thank you for the link!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a lovely time with your brother. Walks in the woods and time in garden - very restful for the soul.
Enjoy the rest of your visit.
Family visits are fun but time-consuming. After all, we want to focus on them while we have them with us :) You can't beat walks in the woods for enjoyment, as far as I'm concerned. I hope y'all have a fun visit.
ReplyDeleteCoffee and water are my beverages of choice, and I don't drink soft drinks much any more -much less than I used to. Happy T Tuesday early :)
Die Natur lässt noch auf sich warten. Und ich freue mich jedes Jahr besonders darauf. Die blauen Mohnblüten gefallen mir! Eine Vorfreude sozusagen auf das Ereignis...

Hi Susi oh wow i love these journal pages ,love the colour you have used ,well done my friend and hope you have lots of fun with your brother xx
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say about those poppies that is more eloquent than what others have written? I think they are fabulous, and am impressed that you created them using a palette knife. The softness of the background and the spring feel of the poppies make this spread very special. It's a very special entry for Jo's theme at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you and your brother are spending quality time together. I know it means a lot to both of you. I think it's wise to restrict his sugar intake, and he looks like he isn't too upset with his drink. In fact, he looks like he is enjoying the day.
I like how you shared your poppy process while drinking your decaf and water. A great overhead shot that brought the process into focus for me. Thanks for sharing your decaf AND your beautiful poppies with us for T this week. And please have fun with your brother because it won't be long and he'll be leaving you again for yet another year.
Wunderschöne Blumen hast Du kreiert. MMM freut sich

ReplyDeleteLove the blue poppies. :)
Just love those textural florals - gorgeous colours too, and the rough white background gives it a rustic, natural look which is so attractive. Hope you're enjoying a great time with your brother, even if he's not enjoying the water!!

Your blue poppies are sublime against the wonderful background. I don't know you make these lovely textured paintings. They have something serene about them.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your brother loves being with you and maybe his tastes will have changed when he gets back home. When in Rome do as the Romans do - do you have a saying like this?
Adore your blue poppies and your creativity!
ReplyDeleteA super spread!

oh dear Susi, I'm having such trouble getting my comments thru to you:( Trying again for the fourth time...)
ReplyDeleteYou must know how much I adore your poppy painting!!! The soft colors are very calming. I may have seen that video as I am thinking about painting poppies again(as I do most every year at least once-but always in red) I'm sure that despite you're watching out for your brother's health that he is so happy to be spending time with you again. Enjoy, and happy T day!
Oh Susie.. I think i would be upset that at 40 years old i couldn't drink what i wanted... lol But i'm glad for you that he seems to accept it in stride. Enjoy your time together. Your poppies are extraordinary! Love the unusual blue color!! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteLiebe Susi,
Wolfgang
Beautiful journal pages Susi and I know you really enjoyed your time with your brother!!
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
Your poppies are wonderful. I love the colour.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great week with your 'little' brother. Hard work, but I'm sure a lot of fun and a very special time. I think the weather is also behaving and the sun is shining.
Good for you that you don't give him sugary drinks. Most Down syndrom people I know have a sweet tooth....
Wishing you a good week,
A belated happy T-Day,
Lisca
The palette knife blue poppies are lovely, Susi. I like how you did the background too. Thanks for the video link.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your brother! How nice that he gets to spend it with his sis. I hope you both enjoy your time together even without the soft drinks.
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
LG
ReplyDeleteI love this beauty Susi....gorgeous.
ReplyDeletexKaren
I love this page Susi - the background is just right for those painted poppies! I know you will have some fun with your brother, even if he is not so happy with your choice of drinks!! I have just realised that some of the Downs children I used to teach will also be 40 this year.....!!! Doesn't time fly? Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these blue poppies, Susi - they are pure delight! I'm smiling at your brother's lack of enthusiasm over the missing sweetened drink...good on you for toeing the line for him. :D
ReplyDeleteYour work of art for AJJ is absolutely gorgeous, Susi! Your poppies are so beautiful, and I love the way you used the word "Faith" here, too! And we don't allow sweetened drinks in our home, either, but my daughters definitely prefer them to water! LOL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGirl you have got those poppies down perfect. And your lil bro is a cutie. xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poppies!!!
