I continue to fill my Zen - Balance - Journal, having fun with collages . This spread is called #self LOVE -
I just found the term in an advertising magazine and wanted to add it here. I think too much self-love isn't good at all - enough of narcissistic personalities out in the world already. But self esteem is necessary! That's for sure. The article in the magazine wasn't very exciting, but at least I could use it's title - lol.
I will link to Art Journal Journey , where the talented Jo hosts
"FLORA & FAUNA" this May. Thank you dear artists for joining our challenge with such enthusiasm. The Art Journal Journey family means the world for Elizabeth and me! Thank you for all your wonderful support girls!
It will also be linked to Moo Mania & More where we have FLOWERS as our current topic .
Happy weekend and much LOVE

Susi, this makes me wonder, do you plan collage pages or wing it as you go?You have such a remarkable sense of composition, I can’t help but wonder. This one especially catches my eye with my favorite hues of pinks, lilacs.
ReplyDeleteAmazing pages! I love the softness of the design with the pretty petals and layers of neutral papers with the stamping - beautiful 😁. The flowers and lovely swallows in flight arr perfect for the Flora and Fauna theme over at AJJ too, thanks so much! Wishing you a happy and creative week dear friend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteWieder ein so wunderschöner Post. Egal was du anfängst, es wird ein Meisterwerk.

ReplyDeleteHi Susi love your pages, very pretty my friend xx
ReplyDeleteThis is such an artistic piece. I see the self love and I really like this a lot.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a troublesome day, dear Susi. My internet has been down for most of the afternoon and evening. I just got it back.
ReplyDeleteYour spread is so lovely. I love the flower on the right and the birds in the sky. And of course, I especially LOVE the sewing. It's truly a wonderful addition to Jo's theme at Art Journal Journey. I agree that we appreciate all the wonderful entries that have been shown to date.
I know what you mean about enough narcissistic people in the world, but self-esteem is a good thing, and so hard to have sometimes. However, you should feel good about this gorgeous page! I love all the details. It's really beautiful. Hope you are having a great visit with your brother-if he is still with you.Enjoy your weekend. Hugs-Erika

Ah, yes..I agree narcissism is alive and thriving, especially over here in America. I really like these pages you've created, Susi. Flowers with a mix of pretty birds..lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color tones, Susi, and love you used the real rose petals , they are perfect there. The sewing surrounding and giving spot to the lovely swallows, and, framing the pages, are great too.
ReplyDeleteSo important with a little self love, as long as it does not grow :-)
Hugs, Dorthe xx

Hello Susi, you have described self-love so well. Holding oneself in esteem is a lovely way of thinking.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page is delightful and, as always, your choice of colours are inspiring and beautiful. Cheers! :D)
Beatiful Susi! You really have your own style. Great!
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to have enough self love. If you have that, it's easier to love others. Have a nice weekend dear Susi!
Love the purple flowers, Susi! And the splashes of color, circles and stitching. All together they make a stunning journal page. Love it!
ReplyDeleteKate
Love your spread Susi, and how you used the magazine title for your theme - I agree with you that there is way too much narcissism in this sad world, but that a strong and realistic self-identity and self- esteem are good.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful spread - so many wonderful details, and whenever I see your clever stitched pages I am in awe of your machine skills dear Susi :)

Wundervolle Seiten, liebe Susi.
ReplyDeleteMMM freut sich
Your collages are always so good, Susi, and you have surpassed yourself in this one. It's so complex but with a great all-over design. I loved the first snippet with the joyful bird and then the contrasting dramatic one at the end.
ReplyDeleteI echo what Mia says with enthusiasm.
Fabulous spread, Susi. The composition of images and textures are super!
ReplyDeleteMar xx
Lovely pages Susi!
ReplyDeleteWonderful ideas on this work Susi and words to inspire everyone
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
Love Chrissie xx
Gorgeous, gorgeous spread Susi, and such a great way to use that magazine title. Love those soft pinky redish colours offset by the more neutral tones. I also absolutely agree with the thought of self love versus narcicism. A certain Mr T. has given a whole new meaning to that word... Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLove youre messy spread!!
ReplyDeletesooo schön, der obere teil der pflanze sieht auch aus wie ein vogel, der sich in die luft erhebt...
ReplyDeleteSusi, right on with your comments! I am with you all the way- too much time and energy spent on loving oneself- you can see this in the upcoming generations, my opinion of course!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great spread and I love the bold words!
Hope your Mother's Day was wonderful dear friend! You mean so much to me! sending hugs and kisses! xoxo
I know I am late calling in, but I had to say how much I love this journal spread and how you used the magazine. The painted flower is so pretty Susi.
ReplyDeleteYvonne xx
A gorgeous spread, Susi, and I totally agree about how much is too much in the self-love dept. It should be a struggle to proclaim self-love lest it get too easy if you get my drift. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWie immer, wunderschön Susi!
ReplyDeleteTrying to play catch up this week Susi, it's been a very busy one but good to see so many lovely posts in my feed from you Yay!!
ReplyDeleteA very special page the words Self Love can be a real struggle for many. I am a giver in everything and people around me are the important ones. I do not do the word *Me* or *I* very well and find those people that relish in those words a little hard to swallow but I suppose it's what makes the world go round. A very thoughtful read to start my day alongside your beautiful journal pages.
Big Hugs Tracey xx
