2315 - Add a Quote [NOT just a sentiment]

We start with : Add a Quote
as a new theme over at

where our Design team always pick their top 5 entries from the challenge and one of our Top 5 entries for each month is considered for a Guest Designer Spot to join us for a future challenge.

I hope that we can see FLOWERS in a world that sees weeds ~Donna Doyon

I added a quote on this spread for my new started
Free Spirit Journal
it's a project to try out a new to me binding method . It hopefully will end up as a stitched mixed media kind of nature-inspired Junk Journal , but we will see if it ends up the way I hope.

A wait - and - see project ,
also fitting the  theme of
ART FOR ART'S SAKE
hosted by Pearshaped Chris
at ART JOURNAL JOURNEY .
I got lost with some of my microwave dried  plant material again -
dried in the microwave oven ( like so )  as already mentioned earlier (HERE).

And last but not least :
Happy T-Day to all the lovely ladies visiting from
T-Stands- For- Tuesday !

I just take it easy and drink more tea.

Much
LOVE
from
Susi

  4. This is a gorgeous spread Susi and you chose a wonderful quote to add to the page. I love how you use the natural leaves and flowers, and you have great results using the microwave oven. I really like how the stitching frames the page.
    Happy T day wishes Susi.

  7. I have yet to try microwaving my flowers. I will need to get a large tile, since all of mine are small and the big ones are stepping stones in my yard.

I adore that quote, but what captured my interest was that you hand sewed these flowers in place, along with decorating the page in hand stitches. I'm in LOVE. And of course, it made me feel good that y8u are linking it to Art Journal Journey, dear co-admin. Another thing that got me was how bright the rose petals were. Mine all turn dark when I dry them conventionally.

So glad you enjoy hot tea on a day like this. It's supposed to be blistering hot, here. But I assure you, your tea goes beautifully with your art journal. Thanks for sharing it with us for T this Tuesday.

  8. I just noticed your question on my blog about the sauce on my omelet. Actually, I'm a sauce junkie, but this was a thin tasteless watery broth more than a sauce. There was a tomato look to it, but it really didn't have much of a taste. I would have expected herbs to infuse the both, but it was not to be. Thanks for asking.
