2364 *** small acts transform the world

small acts transform the world

A page in one of my journals for

We ask that you tell us about your choice
I used some old supplies, like already very dry fiberpaste ( here waiting to be used for years)
for making the arrows and my old distress inkpads to create a squared pattern at the background and an old TH stamp for stamping a grid.
There is still one week for you to participate! We hope to see you!

the fabulous theme hosted this January by the talented Alison/Craftytrog .
Normally I just work in spreads but I decided to start some
individual pages in this journal as well.
Even though I didn't create those at one sitting, they go quite well together in my mind as both show the lovely handmade paper Elizabeth gifted me with.

Oh wow - time flies - T-DAY again!
Hope you are all well!
Early Grey THIS WEEK with a hint of homemade oatmilk (recipe)
and a fantastic tasting easy wacky cake (recipe).

  2. What a beautiful soft coloring - and the message is so true.

  3. Fabulous page! The old stamp pads and fiberpaste added some lovely texture and I love the layers of fabric and paper too 😁. The pretty white butterfly compliments your amazing quote beautifully - perfect! The two pages look wonderful together and your cup of tea with your delicious looking cake would be a real treat this T Day - yum! Wishing you the happiest of days dear Susi! J 😊 x

    LG Ulrike

  5. I love your spreads Susi. You were lucky you could that old paste to work. Usually mine turns into a rock and it is a waste. But it's good to use up supplies and it helped add a lot of nice texture to your page. Small acts are important, aren't they? Even just a smile. And that wacky cake looks good and healthier (for cake) than the one I showed. :) Hope you are stay warm and happy and all is well. Happy T day-hugs-Erika

  6. You made that cake just to tempt me, Susi. It looks delicious, and your tea actually sounds great, too, but I would need the caffeinated type to keep me going. Thanks for sharing your cake and tea with us for T this Tuesday.

I am in awe of your latest journal spread. I am mostly in awe of the hand sewing you performed. That made it even more special. Wish I had the hand grip to sew by hand because I absolutely adore what you did with these very different pieces to pull them all together so nicely. It was a joy to see you using some of my paper and it was even more a joy when you shared this with us at Art Journal Journey, dear friend and co-admin.

  7. Gorgeous journal spreads Susi!! Love the soft colors. That handmade paper is beautiful, and your stitches really add some lovely texture too. I'm enjoying using more sewing on my pages too:) Thanks also for sharing your lovely tea, cake, and recipes. Happy T day!

  8. Loving your journal pages-the colors-the quote-the handmade papers-very nice. your cake looks delicious-thank you for the recipes
    have a wonderful week-Happy T hugs Kathy

  9. Hello Friend! a beautiful notebook, detailed, this neat a fine, original and unique work,
If the small acts of love change the world, and if each one of us did, the world will change!
Much love to Liyongo, may my Lord have compassion on him, very sincerely!

    Kisses !! 😚😚😚

  10. Beautiful pages, love the blues and your tea looks so good.

  13. I so love your amazing beautifully page , dear Susi,- The soft blue tones, with the stenciling in white, and the way you have layered it with the torn fabric, so gorgeous. The black circle draws you in, to the true text and together with the splashes of black, it all becomes a wonderful whole . Your cake looks so delicious but I could not see how much flower, and what kind - I`m not eating wheat :-( . Have a lovely evening my dear, I hope you are not burried in snow !! Hugs, Dorthe

  14. I know the work of only a few favorite artists who have an instantly recognizable style that I love. You're one of them, Susi. These are gorgeous pages and, yes, they do go nicely together.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  15. Thanks for showing that page at different angles. It makes it easier for me to see the layering and depth. Loving that stitching :) Your cup picks up that lovely blue color nicely, and your cake reminds me I haven't had lunch. I wish I had that tasty-looking cake ;) Happy T Tuesday!

  16. Your Wacky cake intrigued me, and I had to go get the recipe.....I think I'd like to try this.
Your pages are stunning, love the layers you created.
    Happy T-day

  17. I had to pop back and tell you, I just remembered one of my favorite contemporary artists has a unique style similar to yours. Are you familiar with Laly Mille? I love her work!

  18. Another gorgeous journal spread Susi, it looks lovely beside the other page you shared.
The inkpads make great backgrounds and I love the layered special papers as well as the great design of the page.
The wacky cake looks yummy, I even thought the music wacky when I followed your link to see the ingredients.
    Happy T day wishes Susi.
    Yvonne xx

  19. Such beautiful journal pages. I love them both.
Your wacky cake is the same as my crazy cake. It's delicious isn't it. It sounds revolting to put vinegar in it but it is necessary for the chemistry and the cake doesn't taste of vinegar at all. Just lovely chocolaty.
The one I do has a great carrot cake version (https://sweetlittlebluebird.com/crazy-carrot-cake-no-eggs-milk-or-butter/)
    Happy T-Day,

  21. Looks like my comment disappeared while I was typing. Silly iPad. Your journal pages go well together. Really like that quote. Earl Grey is one of my favorite blends and I love the Wacky cake though I know it as Depression cake as it didn’t use costly ingredients during The Great Depression. Happy T Day

  22. Fabulous pages and the perfect saying which should be plastered around the world at the moment. Your tea and cake looks very welcoming xxx

  23. A beautiful collage spread Susi, and great inspiration for me to get back to journaling. It's been too long.

  25. Beautiful page, love the colors! And the cake looks yummie as well :)

  26. Your painting is full of light and goodness with the lovely soft blues and greens and words. It looks terrific in the journal alongside your drink and cake.
How nice that Elizabeth sent some hand-made paper and what a lovely way to use it.

  27. Love the colors you used in your journal. Happy belated T Day!

  29. Such a beautiful page, Susi, and there is so much power in that quote. They are a visual and thoughtful feast together!

  30. Hi, Susie! Wonderful journal page with the soft colors and pretty handmade paper. I especially like the words - because small deeds truly do change the world. It's a lovely entry to your journal! Thank you for visiting my blog today. hugs, de

  31. Liebe Susi,

  32. I really love how you used those ink pads to create the squares. I honesty would never think to do that. It looks great with the grid stamp. A lovely spread, Susi. And your tea and cake look divine! I am off to check out the recipes.
I am late making it around this week but Happy Tea Day.

  33. thank you for oat milk and wacky cake recipes.
    greeting- evi erlinda

    hab ein schönes WE

  35. Great page, Susi. I love the sentiment. Sooooo true!!!!!!!!
    Hugs, my dear friend.

  36. Ach wie schön wieder! Überhaupt hast du in letzter Zeit wieder tolle Werke hier gezeigt. Bin wie immer sehr begeistert.
    LG Carola

  37. You combine the colors in some really magic way!

  38. Absolutely fabulous Susi.
    xxx Hazel.

  40. I love this Susi! For some reason blogger would not let me comment on lots of blogs last weekend! Hugs, Chrisx

  41. Sehr stimmig, gefällt mir sehr gut. Der Kuchen auch :)
    LG Petra

  42. I love both pages, but the butterfly blues is my favourite side, I think. I love the butterfly just perched there on the rim of the circle, and the shades of blue are so calming. Lovely handmade paper on both sides of the page, and they do work nicely together.
    Alison x

  43. Love the colors of these pages...so calm and soothing! beautiful work!
