2379 *** Inspired by nature

A new theme is waiting for you over at

"Close to Nature"

I used images from my  free healing herbs calendars
and was confused as I asked my translator for the English name of it,  that a plant  shall just have one name in German but many names in English. But found at google that in German we have also a lot of other names for Symphytum officinale.
What I have learnt from my research is that it's always the best to use the latin name of a plant to find images ( if you need references for drawing or painting for example) and other interesting stuff about plants - ( how to use them for your health etc.)-
since the latin term is general for a plant in every language.

auch Gemeiner Beinwell, Arznei-Beinwell, Beinwurz, Bienenkraut, Hasenlaub, Milchwurz, Schadheilwurzel, Schmalwurz, Schwarzwurz, Wallwurz, Komfrei oder Wundallheil

Anyway - I came up with a spread that as you can imagine
is not just meant for Moo Mania & More but also for our wonderful
new theme of  " HELLO SPRINGTIME" hosted and curated by
the amazing Jo from Let's Art Journal.

Thank you for visiting and your always welcome comments!
Hope to see you at the mentioned challenges with your art!
It's always a pleasure to see with what you come up for the different topics!
I am so happy to have you as my arty friends and like-minded people in blogland! You mean the world to me!

Much
LOVE
from
Susi

  4. Simply beautiful, Susi. When you wrote "comfrey," I knew what you were talking about. It's a beautiful plant, a great herb that helps aid in healing broken bones, is considered a great anti-inflammatory, and a wonderful way to be inspired by nature. This is a perfect two-some, dear friend. I love it and it is a lovely addition to Jo's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

  15. Hi Susi! oh! I did not know that your page was decorated and dedicated to your medicinal plants, that's fine !! I believe a lot in natural medicine, its cure is slower but more effective and many times it heals everything from the roots !!
you know there is a plant called Kalanchoe daigremontiana in Mexico it is known as Aranto and it cures cancer !! there are many medicinal plants in the world with different names just to investigate truth!

Love Liyongo and may my Lord be kind to him!
Hugs to you and happy week ......! be happy!!

  17. Let's try this again. I think you are brilliant using the Latin name, and I wish my students would figure that out. Smile. I do love your page with those gorgeous flowers. It is a super page. Seeing color makes me happy because I am getting tired of the greys, browns and white of winter. Hope it was a good day. Hugs-Erika

  21. What a stunning spread, Susi; that colour combination fairly dances with the thought of spring. I love the addition information about the name situation, too - isn't it astounding that there can be so many names for one plant?! Happy weekend, my oh-so-creative-and-informative friend. xo

  23. I simply love your gorgeous pages - beautiful flowers spreading across, growing and unfurling. Some of the names which exist in English are folk names - for instance, as . you can tell, comfrey was used to help with injuries, and so it gets the names "knitbone" and "boneset", but they're more country lore names than official titles. I love that as a way of travelling in time with words.

  26. Oh klasse, liebe Susi! Ich genieße ihn sehr, deinen Beinwell, incl. seinen "symphatischen" lateinischem Namen. Wo nimmst du nur immer deine Ideen her ...
    Alles Liebe dir!

  32. I was certain I had commented on this page but hey ho, here I am, I was first drawn to this spread by the beautiful pink flower, whatever it is called, by the movement in the base of the flowers, almost spiralling down to the stem. I love looking at movement in nature.
What a gorgeous colourful background you have made to showcase these flowers - love the addition of the lace doily and the blue text.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  35. Wow - I love this vibrant spread, Susi. The two sides blend together beautifully. Fabulous colors ❤

Thank you for the tip about flower names. I think that's especially true for herbs because they've been used medicinally throughout the ages and across cultures.
