"Close to Nature"
I am always thrilled by birds - here I played with an image of a
Painted bunting ( Passerina Ciris).
I would love to see this beautiful bird in my garden, but unfortunately it is just native to North America. The feather I used on the left side is originally from my yard, not a clue from which bird but I tried to give it a Passerina Ciris touch...lol.

So clever to add a touch of colour to that feather by gently tying those threads. It's an ode to that beautiful bird even if you may never get chance to see it for real. Your journal pages really do sing so beautifully today Susi. What a fabulous gift from Elizabeth, handmade papers with love, so kind and thoughtful. I wonder what you will use them for? I look forward to seeing, hope you do share.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day Hugs Tracey xx
P.S your meals are always so healthy.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous spread Susi, and like Tracey, I love the coloured threads on the feather. The bird is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a wonderful surprise package from Elizabeth!
Have a lovely day,
Alison xx
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a painted bunting too and I live in North America. You sure used the image beautifully in your page. You are right, it is perfect for spring and nature. I love your page and I am spending some of my time looking for birds coming back. Just a few so far, I guess it is still too cold, but soon. I will have to keep a special eye open for a painted bunting as I have never seen one. ANd your food looks yummy. Vegetables have come a long way, haven't they? I am trying to eat more and more importantly, get my husband to eat more since he eats way too much meat. But he is a hard man to change in some ways. Wishing you a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteoh bummer for some reason when I am typing here on your blog comments I will be almost finished and then poof my comment is gone-I think that is happening while someone else is also commenting. sigh
ReplyDeleteI love your journal pages very much-we do get to enjoy that beautiful painted bunting here-they are so lovely.
your dishes look delicious-great variety what is in your potato dish?
Happy T day hugs Kathy
Oh and what a lovely surprise from Elizabeth!-enjoy creating with it-hugs
Deine Eri

What a most beautiful spread, what gorgeous colors, and that bird, surely is a very special one. The background with leaves/feathers is gorgeous, dear Susi, and so sweet with the ribbons around the real feather , :-) . ReplyDeleteWe never see that bird here in Memphis, but I followed your link and it's too far away for me to hope it will wander here by accident ;) I like how you "tied" your feather to the bird picture. Those handmade papers are lovely. What a treat!
ReplyDeleteMicrowave dark chocolate banana is a dish I've never heard of. Looks delicious. Happy T Tuesday
This is a wonderful spread. Your bird is amazing and the way you gave the feather the colours of the bird is really original. Love your pages dear Susi!!

Your journal page is wonderful centered around that unusual bird. Although I live in North America I have never seen that bird before. I would be interested in finding out where its habitat it.
ReplyDeleteYour meals always look so appetizing! The potatoes especially.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Brilliant pages and lovely food, mmmmm love sweet spuds.xx
mano
Beautiful page and gorgeous wall color! Wishing a creative week!
ReplyDeleteLiebe Susi,
Wolfgang
Those feathers are gorgeous. I love feathers and on Sunday a friend called and told me about a You Tube video she had seen where they were drawing feathers by pulling string, dipped in several colours) through a wet canvas. Google it, I am sure you will be impressed.
ReplyDeleteYes, that bird is beautiful and I wouldn't mind him hopping into my garden either. I am always thrilled to spot a different bird visiting the feeding shelf. I like how you have incorporated music into your background, birds have such wonderful songs for us, and I love the feathers and how you have tied colourful bits into the main one on your page.
A truly wonderful piece for Spring.
Hugs, Neet xx
Beautiful spread, Susi. I love what you did with the feather to tie it in with the bird's bright colors.
ReplyDeleteYou may convert more of us to plant-based diet with your yummy looking dishes. Honestly, everything you make - whether with paints or plants - is a work of art.
Your smoothie on the woven coaster matches Elizabeth's papers (grin).
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Such lovely pages! I love the little bird (from North America).
ReplyDeleteYour food looks very tasty and looking at that chocolate on the banana, I am getting peckish!
Great papers you got there. Beautiful colours too.
Happy (belated) T-Day,

I'm back and will play catch-up as best I can. This has been a very trying time being without internet, but I HOPE this has been the cure. I'll explain on Wednesday, because it's too convoluted to explain here. I also want to thank you for linking me to AJJ and MM&M. I never realized I couldn't link, or I wouldn't have pre-scheduled those posts. Thanks for visiting while I was offline. It means the world to me.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your bird and the feather you tied with ribbon. And I am also intrigued by this plant based food you are sharing. It is definitely catching on in Europe, but I don't see much talk about it here in the States, yet.
Glad you like the paper, dear friend. Don't forget to save the postage stamp. There are NO more of them at the PO, which is sad.
DeleteI see your blog daily, it is crispy to study.
