Post No 2176 ♣ Stitch It

"Stitch it".
That's our new theme over at TRY IT ON TUESDAY!
We would like you to include some real or imitation stitching
on your entries for this challenge.

 I bound a
measuring 6,5 x 3,5 inches - the spreads in it are approx. 6,5 x 6,5 .
I used a 5 hole pamphlet stitch to add 4 signatures of paper and added beads to the spine.

I will fill this journal with just the scraps I find on my working table- all the remnants of other
projects .

The first three spreads that I have already created in this journal  are all meant for Jo's

all just scraps from other projects so far.

Happy T- Day to the T-S-F-T-Gang over at Elizabeth's blog!!!!
I wish you a soon recovery dear Elizabeth! So bad to hear you feel so unwell!
Take good care of you!

The bookbinding was a bit tricky for me and I had even two cups for a calming effect on my working table.
One cup with cinnamon tea and one cup with black decaf.
With coffee and tea everything is possible!!!

  20. Oh Susi, I love your Remains journal. I always take the easy way out and machine sew my signatures. You did yours the hard, but decorative and beautiful way. I absolutely adore your three pages, and really LOVE the first one with red and purple. It is fabulous. Of course, the tea bag container was perfect for T, too.

    Happy T Tuesday!

  23. A coffee + tea project, Susi, oh my! I know nothing about bookbinding. Your book is fabulous! I love what you're filling it with too. Showing that "the remains of the day" can also be beautiful. That's something worth pondering.

    Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

  24. oh my goodness, your book is stunning! I love hand-stitched books - they are worth every minute they require. and scraps for collage...yes please! your pages are beautiful!! happy T day!

    Mar xx

  26. Such a delightful journal Susi and what a fabulous idea to use up the left overs at the end of the day. The pages you've already created are wonderful xxx

Rike

  30. You are too funny Susi!! Two fisted drinker! LOL

What a fabulous journal! Perhaps you would give a tutorial on making this sometime?

and, you are so very welcome ,my friend!! I mean every word I say about you and your art! You inspire me so!!
    Wish we lived closer!
huge hugs and lots of love,Jackie

    Alison xx

  33. Wow, what a beautiful book! You know I'm fond of books :)

  34. Beautiful!! Love how you added beads to the binding, too. :)

  36. What a fantastic book! Oh how I love this. The stitched spine is just beautiful and I love your starter collages. Hugs, Autumn

  37. Lovely journal, Susi, and I love it that you are using leftovers to complete it!

  38. Kreisch, wie toll ist das denn!!! Sensationell gemacht.
    LG Conny

  40. Susi this is an awesome book. Very nicely done.

  41. What a superb handmade art journal - and the pages inside are wonderful too. I especially love that rose-petal flower - brilliant and beautiful.
    Alison x

Bin sehr beeindruckt! Auch die Idee von "Try it on Tuesday" gefällt mir sehr.
    Liebe Grüße, Andrea

  44. oh - how did I miss this wonderful post last year.
Wonderful spreads but it was your beautiful handmade book and spine that really caught my eye Susi, as I'm trying to learn book binding this year. I just finished the first book using 'Coptic stitch' but unpicked the stitches several times - I could have done with a calming herbal tea afterwards :)
    Gill xx

  45. I missed it too, I think I may have been on holiday?
These pages are superbly arty, what a great book this is. Of course I like everything here but am especially taken with the piece at the end about the rose, with such beautiful colouring and the stitching.
