2302 ♣♣♣ A new theme over at Art Journal Journey

We start a new theme at
ART JOURNAL JOURNEY
today and we are happy that the talented Gill hosts it for us. Her talents are widely diversified and I really look forward to this month's entries of Gill and the AJJ artists. Her topic for us:

Inspired by....

"Was it something you saw or heard, a song maybe,  or a book or your favourite place, a favourite colour, a memory, a dream, another artist,  or an art product  or something else ? "

I hope you will join
ART JOURNAL JOURNEY
this month again! I am looking forward to seeing with what you will come up!

Mixed Media on watercolour paper 7" x 9"1/2

The inspiration for my above first page for this month were my lovely new poppies in the garden.

They are just so pretty.

For  Elizabeth's  Second Look on the 2nd,
starting tomorrow, I have chosen to bring back a sunflower painting in watercolour from 2013.
HERE .

The rules for Second on the 2nd are quite simple. All you have to do is bring back a post that you are especially proud of, or perhaps one you shared before anyone knew your blog existed.  Any post, any genre, any artistic endeavor is acceptable.

 Much
LOVE
from
Susi

  2. What a fabulous way to start this new month, Susi. What I LOVE about this is it is so different and unique. That's what makes this theme so fun. I simply adore your poppies. You did a great job drawing them. Of course, the genuine ones are lovely, too. They make a big show of their own. They and your painting make a lovely first entry for Art Journal Journey this month.

I remember your awesome sunflower. Your watercolor drawings always delight me because I can't draw anything with realism. I can certainly tell this is a sunflower, because it's my state flower! Thanks for sharing this second look with us on the 2nd, dear.

Rike oxo

  39. You asked what workshop I attended, Susi. It was a fascinating workshop on river runoff, elevation, and flooding. To demonstrate the process, we were each given a sheet of printer paper and a large plastic bowl. We were told to crumple the paper in any way we chose, but to be sure there were mountains and rivers. Then they passed around some blue dye. We also had access to spray bottles of water. The more we sprayed the more runoff we got. It was a fun, hands on experiment and I really enjoyed it.

Personally, I believe the place you shared was much larger than where I was. Of course, I haven't seen the museum, which was in a different building than the workshop.
