2324 - July nearly flew by ... COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

July nearly flew by - and we have had a blast at Art Journal Journey again ! It has been so fun to visit all the participants and to meet new to me bloggers and all those many techniques and ideas on the different  journal pages inspired me a lot . So thanks for joining in and thanks to  the inspiring Chris from Pearshapedcrafting for hosting  her fun and enjoyable July theme in such a magnificent way.
You were simply fantastic Chris, thank you for your splendid performance!

For August we have a similar inspiring and diverse theme chosen and hosted by my lovely and gifted AJJ Co. - Admin ELIZABETH from
So hop over to ART JOURNAL JOURNEY to learn more about our new theme and have a look at   Elizabeth's    example page for us.

Elizabeth's theme : COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

I have a spread in my Letter Journal 3
to begin with this theme and as a reminder for TRY IT ON TUESDAY, where our theme "Use bookpaper" still runs and for MOO MANIA & MORE  where we have
"Sheet Music" as our current theme. I hope I will see you all again over at the challenge blogs! It means the world to me to see with how much enthusiasm the artists support our challenges each month!

Tomorrow Elizabeth's
Second on the 2nd happens to be.

The rules are quite simple and everyone is welcome to join the fun look back challenge .  All we have to do is bring back a post that we are especially proud of, or perhaps one we shared before anyone knew our blog existed.  Any post, any genre, any artistic endeavor is acceptable.
I have one of my very first Altered Book spreads chosen to reshow.

The original post is from March 2011 (HERE)
at the time I had started the
ART JOURNAL JOURNEY blog. I am thrilled that the challenge became so popular over the years ! Thank you so much to all
the wonderful bloggers and like- minded people who made this magnificent art journey possible!

  3. Oh Susi, I absolutely adore that journal page you created for my theme. Those stamps you used are to die for. They are fantastic, and so is the sentiment. Those fiery hearts really pop on the otherwise cool page. This is an amazing first entry dear friend and co-admin. And thanks for all you did to help me this month, too. I am very grateful.

It was amazing looking back at that first AJJ entry you shared for your Second on the 2nd. I really love those birdcage stamps you used. Simply gorgeous. And have you noticed how so many of the people who you shared that original art with are either gone, have moved on, or no longer posting?

Sorry I was late visiting. Either my modem or my internet is having a meltdown. I can't seem to stay online and have to reboot my modem about every 10 minutes.

  10. Love your 'Count your Blessings' spread, Susi - fabulous work with lots of my own personal favourite elements there...

Great to see, too, how much your art has changed from 2011 until now... so much tighter then that it is now, when you're much, much freer and loose.

    You are such an inspiration!

  14. Wow, I think this has to be one of my favourite journal spreads that you have created! I love love love the colours and the layers of papers in the background 😁. Then there are those amazing stamped images on the tissue paper and your bird looks amazing surrounded by the lighter circle just like it is silhouetted by the sun! Those beautiful splattered hearts and amazing quote fit perfectly together too - stunning! Wishing you a very happy week dear Susi! J 😊 x
p.s. just so you know, I have unsubscribed from following your blog by email as I am now managing the blogs I follow another way which is easier for me, so I will still be visiting as normal. Hugs J x

  15. Blue is the color of the post! I like both pages a lot, and I love seeing how your style has changed a bit since 2011. Boy that seems like a long time ago-time goes way too fast I think. I do love the pops of red on your new page and you incorporate stamps. Beautiful work as usual my friend. Is Liyongo back to his old self yet? Happy August. Hugs-Erika

  18. I knew I would love this, seeing your little peek on top Susi- it is so beautiful, with the head, and that fantastic quote . Birds are one of my favorite things to use, and this one, stamped in dark blue/ black- sitting in the round circle of sun- looks gorgeous .
    Hugs, Dorthe
Your old spread I so admire too, with all the blue details, in different wonderful tones-

  26. Hallo Susi,
    Dani

  30. When I saw your spread for AJJ and read the text, my heart went "Wow!"

I loved seeing a journal page you did eight years ago. It's beautiful and very different from what you create today. You're a gifted artist and so supportive of beginners (like me) that it makes my heart sing (grin).
